Awake Again release new single “Middle Man”

The track is the first taste of the band’s upcoming album, due next spring

Awake Again, whose career has been gaining impressive international momentum, are adding more fuel to the fire with the announcement that they will release their second full-length studio album next spring. Alongside the news, the band are also offering the first taste of what’s to come.

Released today, “Middle Man” marks the beginning of a new, heavier and more mature chapter in Awake Again’s career. Fast, chaotic and relentlessly heavy, the track combines the crushing force of modern metalcore with System Of A Down-inspired surprises and unpredictable energy. Sharp riffs, explosive dynamics and the band’s signature catchy hooks provide an aggressive first glimpse into the new era of Awake Again.

With this new chapter, Awake Again have taken their production to the next level, introducing new shades and textures to their songs. However, the band have not abandoned the tried-and-tested way of working that has served them well. The track was developed collectively by the band, with Österman taking on production duties. Mixing and mastering were handled by the band’s trusted collaborator Rami Nykänen.

Awake Again’s next live appearance will be at Unholy Winterfest in Joensuu on November 27. Early next year, the band will once again head abroad, joining Swedish band Mister Misery for a tour of Germany. The tour will kick off with release shows for the new album. The band are also hinting that more live dates will be announced in the near future.
